Requirement for residency permit

ltoby955

I hold an EU longterm residency in Portugal but I am a non EU passport holder. I was wondering what the enry requirements are? I saw there are certain areas where you can relocate to with a flat rate tax on pensions namely Pulia. Many thanks for any help.

Make your mind up! You posted on the Greece forum and now the Italy forum. You still say you are Portuguese. Please alter it and say where you are from. It makes a difference. Until you do that, no one will be able to help you.

No I didn't say I was Portuguese I am a permanent residency holder in Portugal but non EU citizen. I posted on here after I found out Greece wouldn't be possible as they require a greater income. I am about to start radio theraphy for cancer but I want to move when that is completed. I hold a UK passport as mentioned in my post,  but I have lived in Portugal for 10 years. Many thanks

You would need to show income above the minimum required and an address - so either a house you own or a rental contract.   The health service as a 'European' you might not need, but its highly possible they will insist you have health insurance for the first 5 years of your stay as you have no contributions in Italy and if you havent earned in Portugal you wont be on their list either.

For the pensioners low tax boltholes - you need a comune of fewer than 20.000 people and then you will only pay 7% tax for the first years.  Obvuiously the smaller the comune, the fewer the services - so what an older person is looking for - hospital, local services, etc is unlikely to exist.

Your profile says you are Portuguese. Please change it to England.

@Modicasa

Thank you, I hols a UK s1 which the UK pay all my medical bills, I see this is accepted in Italy, I am not sure if I take out private care but I probably will. I am not quite sure about the minimum wage requirements. I see you have a Patranato, do they speak English? I speak Portuguese which is similar with some words. I was thinking if I should have a trip there and maybe talk through things with someone that can tell me the requirements.  Happy New Year to you.
