where are you ?
you can get in Gozo
I would prefer to get it in malta not Gozo
it would help if we knew where you were....
Hi oloofa,

you will find all the information you need at :

Distribution points, prices and deposit. Make sure you get a receipt!

Also, every street is served by a delivery man. Ask your neighbours about the day he delivers.

Some stores also sell gas bottles.

It is getting cold now ! I always keep a spare full gas bottle to avoid being out of heat or cooking when one runs empty.

Cheers
Ricky
thank you for your help. i found the info. i can buy it from marsa.
You can also buy from the competitor

1.OUR YARD-Valletta Road Luqa
2.Easygas Shop in San Gwann
3.Ta` Fonzu Supermarket in Hamrun
4.Hal-Safi near the school.
thank you
Cracks me up this. And so typical of what I've found here so far.

This is probably one of the most important services for a resident here, yet one of the companies doesn't even have a website (do they really think we want to look at photos of their lorries on facebook聽 ) and the other displays delivery schedules that are over a year out of date.

Ho hum.
Part of the problem is that "everyone " knows when gas is delivered in their area
George. As far as I can work out (and as suggested in an earlier post) people just leave their empty cylinders outside their house on delivery day. My problem is that I live in apartment only accessible via an entryphone system. When I find out which day is delivery day, if I stick my apartment number on the cylinder, is the guy likely to call me to come down and pay him?
Ask your neighbours - what do they do?
Really mate. You gotta give me more credit than to assume I'm asking questions on the forum that I can get a quicker answer to by knocking next door. I have no neighbours. I'm first in聽 ;)
Okay. A little asking around and it seems that the lorry passes my place at 7.30am on Mondays. Everything happens so early in this country :o

The RRP for the 25 litre cylinder is shown on the Liquigas website as 聙36.60. However, I can't help thinking that nobody except the newbies (me :D) pays this price. Can I ask how much some of you guys are paying.
fixed price - [edit well used to be fixed, now the authority sets a maximum each month - in reality the price is that or marginally lower, but everyone pays the same]
ps 25kg one is for restaurants normally not residences
Gotcha. Must be the 12 Kilo Cylinder for 聙20.60 that I need then.

Roll on Monday. I've rarely been as cold as I've been in the last week  :(
welcome to malta and its winter.....lol

12kg = 20.60e at the moment but be prepared for it going up again and it wont be long going by last years performance

ah the halcyon days of 4/5 yrs ago when it was only 5.40e.

Yep, there used to be a big subsidy on gas and kerosene. Now its electricity that's subsidised.聽 Funny how things change.

i recall still seeing the kerosene lorry trawling round the streets here
If gas bottles are not supplied by landlords upon moving in to accommodation, does one have to pay a deposit on a 'new' cylinder to get started?
If so, how much?
Thanks.
there is usually a gas bottle supplied for the cooker - not sure about heaters - sometimes heaters are included and have the gas bottle - but there is a 25euro deposit on top of the bottled gas at 20.60e...make sure you get a receipt..they are legally obliged to give you one so that if and /or when you leave you can get the money back - but most people just sell them on.
Thanks pal! :)
I needed to find when gas bottles were delivered here and I emailed info@liquigasmalta.com who replied, probably within the hour, with the tel number of the local delivery man.

Their website also has prices, last updated April 2013 (聙17.90 recommended 12kg)
