Another Malta cost of living thread.

Nuki

Quick question for everyone. If room/board, utilities, transportation, and food were paid for, could you survive on 1000 Euro a month? Wife might get a job there, and we've been talking about going there for years, if it works out well, we might move our entire family out.

How big is the entire family?

Nuki

Myself, her and our 8 yo.

Toon

IMHO for sure

But it does depend on what standard of living you expect

Nuki

Hmm, so I'm guessing we'd just barely be subsisting?

georgeingozo

You would have more disposable income than many families would have, even if your rent, utilities, food etc weren't already paid for. Where do you live now, and how much do you spend a month

No far from it many families here have much less than this as disposable income . ( ie after paying for rent mortgage bills for elec water gas food and transport) as these items are the bulk of most peoples expenditure.

Hi Nuki,

welcome to the forum.

From your profile it appears that you are from the US. That could make things a bit more complicated , especially with work permits and residency issues unless one of you holds a EU passport.

What family income are you counting on ? That would make it easier to answer the question -))

Cheers
