Street map and detailed bus routes

Hi all

The number of times I have gotten lost is embarrassing! So a map is now the only way forward. Can anyone suggest a decent street map of Malta, as well as a detailed bus routes book? I.e. I take bus x to Paola and must then go to y street to change to the z bus... Any ideas where I can then buy said books?

Hi. The yellow pages is very good for street maps. Also, if you have a smart phone then you can't get lost with the maps. As for the bus, I find the maps hard as they use bus stop names, which is useless if you don't know the town.

That is actually a very good idea Caroline.聽 I have the malta map on my iphone (as well as google maps).......just had a look and there are similar (free and offline) map apps for android as well.

I have just e-mailed Arriva to see if they are going to develop an app for their bus service and am awaiting a reply.聽 I will let everyone know how it goes.

Arriva's bus routes are on Google Maps - you can use the directions from / to and choose "public transport", it'll give you good information.

Indeed, but it would be nice to have something on your phone that is/can be 'off-line'........not everyone has internet bundles on their mobiles.

But still a good resource nonetheless.

True.

It's not really a solution, but Google Maps seems to cache quite a of data. If you're planning on going somewhere, load it up on your phone in Google Maps while you have an internet connection, and it should work fairly well once you're there. At least, that's been my experience.
