Staying in Gozo

I have always stayed in Malta and would now like to stay in Gozo for a few weeks this year, I was wondering which area would be the best place to stay, that is well serviced by the bus and that also has a few nice restaurants to eat in the evenings.
I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on where to stay ie hotels or self catering apartments.聽 I have only ever been on day trips to Gozo from Malta and I have experienced the delights of Gozo only a little.

Very funny, I might as well camp there and going scuba diving at the inland sea.

Its a fantastic view.
I don't want to stay by the ferry port though, I would fall out again with those taxi Drivers.
I had a big argument with them in November last year, they are ruthless, its a shame as Gozitan People are great, lovely people. I know November is out of season and they are desperate for the trade but there are limits as to how they behave and they over stepped the boundaries, they are to in your face which can give Gozo a bad names especially as you get straight off the ferry into that stupid and aggressive attitude.
