Proper Fish & Chips

I am from the UK and do not miss anything specifically from there, do miss rivers, lakes and trees however.
Can't see any reason to ever return!

I don't really miss anything especially the UK weather, would like to see family more often.
With regards food shopping we can get just about everything here we
need.

No! If I had to get back to rivers lakes and greenery I would move to somewhere like Bavaria, certainly not to the UK, place has gone to pot!
Idiots and nutters protesting on the 25 motorway and the police just ask them if they need anything to make it more comfy! Should be given 5 years minimum.

With a small kid I miss the UK museums and so forth, really no substitute here.

We have plenty of nature in Malta - and when we want variety Malta has a great airport.

Really less than zero chance of ever moving to the UK again for me.

When I go to the Lighthouse food store I will get German Sauerkraut und German beer. Just the name Lighthouse is not German yet. However, after improving denglish the word can be adopted and I feel like being at home.

What I miss in Malta, since the UK left the EU, is 'The Times' newspaper - in English! It looks to me that the Maltese authorities are punishing the UK because the Times was probably the best, oldest and most 'establishment orientated' newspaper!  Why is it that the Guardian, Daily Mail and Mirror
can all still be purchased in Malta, I wonder!

Can't you read it on line?

Well, I don't like reading that much on-line. I find it far more relaxing to sit in a chair and actually turn the pages! Also I like to fold the paper and do the crossword with a 'pen' if anyone can still remember them!!

I used to be like that and totally get where you are coming from, and totally understand.

Slowly i switched to a tablet - Samsung to be exact - and have no regrets and can't see me going back to old fashioned paper - and let's say I do not belong to the slefie generation as i am WAY over 40 now LOL!
On one tablet I get all the papers, novels, and guide books i need even when I travel, all in one little space - how convenient is that. The Egypt Rough Guide was over 200 pages brick, so that saved lots of hauling around -  and yes you can still turn the pages, just click on the bottom or top page and the screen will look like it's a page turning. I added sound effects as well. Also, since i need reading glasses, I get to expand the page and see the darn thing better, highlight, annotate, take snapshots of important pages and save in my documents to access faster, link online through the internet, and even share pages with any travelling partners. Well, comparing all that to having a normal lumbering book or huge paper in my hands, give me the tablet any time.

But I was willing to take the plunge and get out of my comfort zone. In time IT REALLY PAID OFF and no regrets - in fact it really made my life way easier and more enjoyable.
