Looking to rent somewhere for the winter on the south coast

i am from the UK a small town Burnley not too far from Manchester.
My partner and i are living in porto at the minute its our first year in Portugal.
We have decided to rent somewhere for the winter on the south coast while we find a property to buy out here.
I have looked at the usual sites idealista etc but getting replys seems to be like pulling teeth hahaha.
Any points in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
