Hi - I am British citizen looking to return to Scotland upon retirement. I am looking for information on bringing my dog with me and have read that she would have to be in quarantine for six months - is this correct?

we planning flying our 2 dogs and parrot to UK from HKG, do the flight tickets cost same as a person and will they聽 accompany us on the flight?
what should we know about? eg when can we join our pets聽 once we arrive in UK?

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

All animals flying into UK travel as cargo; the UK authorities do not allow pets to arrive in the cabin.聽 My advice is to speak to the airline and ask there for what their process is.

There are quarantine restrictions that may be applicable; you can find the details about this on the UK Gov website; this will take you there.聽 As for parrots, they are classified as "non-native" and special rules apply, again there is a UK Gov website that has the details; this will take you there.
