I have an offer of a job in Sweden but I have been asked to register as self-employed in Sweden. Does anyone know how long the process would take

Contact 'Bolagsverket' for a valid answer to your question.

The cycle from start to completion also depends on your proficiency in submitting the required information e.g. clearly layout business plan, tax- & personal detail, presenting liability coverage (if needed), and more.

It can take up to a number of months, unfortunately not a few days or a couple of weeks.

To register as self-employed took me 4 weeks. I didn't need a detailed business plan and the only info they wanted was proof I did not owe any taxes from outside sweden (the last country I lived in) they asked because I hadn't lived in Sweden yet for 2 years. But this was easily done and within 4 weeks I was registered.聽 I would say 6 weeks to 2 months but I think that is only if you need to provide a lot of paperwork for some reason.
