Visa has to be valid when application is lodged.聽 If they tell you to renew his visa before applying, then go and do that first.聽 聽I have never been asked to do so in similar situations but you never know, rules change here everyday.

Yes self sponsorship visa holders can sponsor a maid.聽 For income requirements, you need to check with LMRA聽 as I am not sure for self sponsorship but it would definitely be above 500 BD or 1000 BD.聽 I have a maid and I provided my Saudi income details which were fine for this. No one will tell you whether a nationality is allowed or not - that is never disclosed.聽 There is nothing official banning a particular nationality.聽 The only way to know is to apply.

Thank you for your response. My income from rental is over BD1,000 from property in UAE. Further since am expatriate do we have to pay additional monthly charges to Bahrain government for keeping foreign house maid like we do in UAE?

No monthly charges.聽 Just a deposit of 500 BD, on top of visa fees, which is refundable when the maid leaves - it is similar to UAE but lower.
