Throwing myself in at the deep end....

CathyAnn

Hi,
I'm Cathy and I'm moving to Bahrain in August to teach at the ISC Manama. I've just finished university, there's no jobs in the UK for graduates and so essentially I'm doing as I said...throwing myself in the deep end...apprehensive, scared, but looking forwards to it!
Just wanted to say hi!

Good luck, CathyAnn! There's no time like the present to throw yourself into the deep end!

Hi Cathy and in advance welcome to Bahrain :)

Its a good move by the way ... I think once you arrive to Bahrain you will realize that its not that deep end you have in mind :D

Just  be optimistic, think positive and I'm sure you will have a good time in Bahrain.

Good Luck & All the Best :)

Cheers,

Does ISC need motivated teachers like you in the deep end?..

(people got a job in a sunny place  and  complaining???)

I am really looking forwards to teaching, I spent last summer teaching in Thailand and found it very rewarding to see how much it helped the children.

I just have 3 very young siblings (8,7 and 2 years old) at home that I'll miss, and it's a big leap moving away from all my family and friends.

But it's a very exciting opportunity to learn about a different culture and a new country. :D

Now, it s my pleasure  to

Wellcome you to Bahrain, Miss! :)

Hi CarhyAnn,

I hope you have a smooth shift to bahrain. ISC is a great place to work in and I supposed you'll be staying at teachers' camp, which is also a nice neighborhood to hang out. The place is located in Amwaj Island and it's a very beautiful place.

Except for the heat, everything is great about the country, the food , the people. I bit you're Ganna love it.
I met some nice girls on this forum and we have been such a fun group. Maybe you can join us one day.

Let me know if I can be any help to you.

Hi Lulu

Yes, I think I am staying in that area, I gather it's quite far out from the main centre, so I'm investigating how much it'll cost me to lease a car etc so I can get around a bit easier.

I am really looking forwards to it! I'm going to Egypt in a couple of weeks, it'll be a tester for the heat! I arrive in August which I gather is the worst month for the heat.

I would love to join your group one day, when I'm all settled in, August seems so far away, but I bet it comes quickly!

:D

Sure CathyAnn,
That would be lovely! Well, it's not really far from where you're gana stay to the main city. The country is small. And if there is no traffic, you can reach any distinction in manama in 20-25 min. Don't worry! It'll work just fine.
You can lease a good economical car for around GBP 300 per month.  Enjoy Egypt trip.

You've got more questions?

Lulu

CathyAnn

Don't think I have anymore questions! I'll be floating around the forum though over the next couple of months so if I think of anything I'll be sure to ask!

very excited.
