Hi,
i am having my wife and 1 kid below 1 yr.
recently got offer 1400 OMR,how much i can save after taking 1 bhk house.
also want to know any swiming facility there in muscat & how much cost to use them.
Please let me know.

RO 200-300 - For an apartment
RO 100-200 - Food & eating out (entirely dependant on your lifestyle)
RO 40-50 - If you want to employ a driver to get to/from work (depends on where your apartment is and where your offices are based)
RO 50 - Utilities, Phone etc

I've gone with a reasonably lower range there. You could easily fork out the following:

RO 600-800 - 2/3/4 bedroom villa/apartment with garden and if you are lucky a pool!聽
RO 300-500 - Food & eating out (if you shop in Al-Fair for groceries every other day) and drinks (assuming you like a tipple) combined
RO 250 - If you rent a car
RO 50-100 - Utilities, Phone, Home broadband, Dish etc.

Hope this helps you get a sense of the place. If you intend to save for a rainy day, you easily can. However, if you are like me (up until a few months back) then you can easily blow it all and have a good lifestyle! Good luck.

is there in muscat swimming pool available where i can go fr 11 hr swim daily like Zym ..please let me know...and what the fees would be...

Yes there are plenty of health clubs. Fees depends on which one you choose and how long you sign up for. For example at al falaj hotel the fees are as below:

1 year - RO 225 approx
3 months - RO 95
1 month - RO 55

Includes access to the gym, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room, tennis court and pool.

Plenty of other hotels do similar deals. If you want to just swim i suggest you call and ask them when you are here on exclusive pool deals.

My questions are
(1)My office is in Block 24
Azaiba Plaza 聲 P.O. Box 716 聲 PC 130 聲 Muscat 聲 Sultanate of Oman Which place would be better to live on rent near my office....and 200-300 OMR would be enough for 1 BHK ...
(2)From where i can buy like AC,Fridge,Double bed,washing machine etc for initial setup....& how much approx cost...
Second hand product also available?
(3)Are the flats having centralized AC there?
(4)Availibility of gas pipeline ?
(5) 1 bhk flat would be in apartments ( High Rise) or in builder floor or both options available there.

i know few question may be silly...but these are my last queries...will not disturb you more...

1. Have a look on Oman Dubizzle - there should be properties available on there. You should be able to get a decent apartment as there is an excess of supply and lack of demand in that area.

2. Yes, second hand products available, although if you go to Lulu Hypermarket the price differential b/w some of these items may not be huge. Have a look on some of the websites based in Dubai and convert to OMR and that should give you an indication. (Try Jumbo electronics or just google around and you should be able to find prices). This forum also does classifieds for second hand products.

3. Some do and some don't (i.e. not centralised but they come with split unit ac units)

4. Your landlord should provide you with a number. No pipeline as such, you purchase cylinders.

5. Again entirely dependent on the apartment.

Most localities have an indian population around here! Do you have an Omani driving license? If so, you can pick and choose your area. If not, you are slightly restricted as you would not want to live too far away...which would then mean a longer commute (traffic has unfortunately caught up with Oman with the zillion roadworks that are currently in progress) and a driver (who will charge you a higher amount depending on your commute and timings).
