Hello everyone,

Reaching the decision to seek divorce can be hard. Filing the papers as an expat in Qatar can be as taxing since a good grasp of legislations is needed and the process can prove to be tedious.

Where and how do you apply for a divorce in Qatar? How long does it take for the process to be completed?

If the couple has children, which measures can be taken in order to protect their interests?

go to family court in al Sadd, they will answer your questions,
also there is the family affairs in first instance court also in al sad, 5th floor,

i guess there is Muslim and non-Muslim courts, the rest of the details i don't know and i don't know about the legality in your country

Divorces are generally to apply where you have married.

Where did you mary?
Divorce as one-sided desire?

If you married in Quatar you need to follow Islamic Quatary roules and you shouldent do it without leagl support that tries first to find a consence in Mediation meetings.

You need a very good leagl support over there.

so to the steps:

If your husband agrees, then petition will be placed聽 together at the (Cassation) Court.

If you find no consensus, it goes to court.

If there is a verdict, which is then challenged by your husband, the appeal appoints two arbitrators who must first propose a reconciliation attempt. If this reconciliation attempt fails, the two referees make a recommendation and this is normally 100% accepted.
