I might be on my way as well, how is it?

It's a very small, conservative place reknowned for its dates (the kind you eat, not the *fun* kind).

Ok, will save some room in my stomach for dates :)

Qasim is the worse city in the KSA . you gonna handle it for long . am sure try to come to Dammam or Khobar it's more batter than Qasim
How's Dammam better than rest of KSA ? Any specific benefits / advantages for a non Muslim expat ?

The coasts are less conservative than the interior. They also have the sea!聽 You can swim, fish, dive.聽 Also, there are many expats in the Dammam area due to Aramco and additionally, it's convenient to Bahrain!

So true!!! Eastern Province is by far the place to be in KSA, way more relaxed than the rest. You should check it yourselves and cross over the Bridge too.

I cannot even go in-land without whining LOL.

Well, the way I look at it is that living in Riyadh has given me the inner strength to live almost any where!

:) I doubt about Qassim.
Imagine a city where any colors/designs/embroidery on Abayas are discouraged. So many (pirates looking) thob-clads with long beards ;) Naqabs (veils) and black gloves are appreciated.....Well, well don't scream! :) I've been there yet. Just a hearsay.

You know what, though?聽 Something I've learned here聽 is that appearance often means nothing.聽 Sometimes the women all in black/gloves聽 are the friendliest; the guys with the mutawa beards lovely people. Can't assume anything.
