Sexually Transmitted Infection (SYPHILIS)
Can you tell me if what will happen to me here in Saudi if they diagnose me that I have syphilis infection, they will deport me or they will allow me for treatment.
Can you recommend me a hospital or clinic that can confirm my status and treatment as well.
My location is in Yanbu and Jeddah. Thank you very much.

When I'm in our country I went for Medical Exam including HIV Test because I have an application to other country and they are requiring me for confirmatory test for Syphilis only because they found antibodies for syphilis in my blood. But I did not comeback in my Medical for confirmatory test. I been here working in KSA for 6yrs and only now I experienced symptoms, it started last month when I'm in our country. And I decided to comeback again here to work and to got treatment if there is clinic or hospital that will accept me.
What do you mean I don't gamble with my health? Can you please advise me what to do because I'm so worried right now regarding my situation.
Thank you very much.
Try to go to any private hospital under the coverage of your health insurance.聽 But first go to any private laboratory and make an HIV and Herps test. To make sure if you have them or not if you have them then you will be deported if not then you can do what I advced at first which is to get treatment in any private hospital. But make sure that you are clear from the first two.
There is no point in going to a local hospital for treatment. When you clearly know the consequences would be bad if they inform ministry of health.
Im already taking antibiotic started today.聽 Only self medication, Hope everything will be fine.聽 God bless all.
you should inform that person to seek treatment.聽 Syphilis if not treated properly might affect several organs in your body. Please read this carefully and take care of your health
Thanks and regards,
You have to be honest with your doctors and the Health Care Workers so they take more precuation handling your body fluids.
So this is something serious, First of all ask for forgiveness from Allah.
Second go to any hospital it is cure able and doctors do not report cure able disease as you are affraid.
Do not waste time and asking people about it and doing self medication in that case can you loss of your favorite body part.
So get up and go to doctor and let him diagnose you, by the way how you know you have it ?聽 By google ?聽
You need a treatment for that and try to contact psychiatric as well
XTang wrote:The reason you need to go to a doctor is that if this is left untreated, the disease will escalate over time and can result in issues like blindness.聽 Secondly, the primary treatment is via penicillin but you need to be sure that you don't have an allergy to this - because if you do, the alternative regimen is doxycycline.
question is how he finds out that he have this ? without going to any doctor ?
Or physical symptoms like painless sores and rashes
But he found out when he went for medical exam in his own country - post #3.
Hi all,
@nickz2160 Or anyone
hello. Today I went to get tested for Chlamydia. If it comes back positive will I be deported from Saudi Arabia?
@Al0611 it's normal u can get as soon treatment dnt worry
If you are cured of syphilis, but still have residual antibodies, below the threshold where the western world considers cured, can you not get the IQAMA? They ask for qualitative VDRL, but if in the tests carried out in the kingdom they carry out a quantitative test, it may present a quantity of residual antibodies even without transmitting and completely healed, known as an immunological scar. Is it possible not to be able to issue the IQAMA who had total remission of syphilis?
I am not yet in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Due to the already cured infection, I know that the blood test that they will do for the IQAMA issue probably will show up. I don't have the disease, it's just the antibodies, the body defense mechanism, like a memory, it is normal and all doctors know that it takes time to go down. The question is whether or not I will be constrained in this process. I have already read the report in another thread here of a guy from Phillipines expat who, in 2017, when diagnosed with Syphilis upon arrival at the KSA, he was treated and got the IQAMA. He was infected, not just antibodies. But it's a huge strain not knowing how they're going to deal with it.
@XTang Do you think it might be interesting to write to the GAMCA before traveling to find out how they handle this at the KSA?
GAMCA will not comment nor know anything about KSA treatment - they are totally separate and represent the whole GCC, not just KSA.聽 The reason I was asking you about GAMCA is because until or unless they clear you, there is no chance for you to go to KSA to begin with.聽 聽KSA is not like UAE or Bahrain where you can go on a visit visa, do medical and convert it.聽 You HAVE to do medical in country of citizenship or country of residence.聽 Where GAMCA is present, it HAS to be GAMCA medical.
The proces here in my country is different. We don't have GAMCA. We clear with regular lab test, that are repeated when we arrive in KSA.
They ask us to do a test called VDRL qualitative. In VDRL qualitative the baseline antibody's titres are not counted. If you are titre 1:8 or less is considered non reagent of false negative. It means I can be cleared in my country and get the temporary work visa from here. Only if they use a different blood test method in KSA they will discover that I had a previous infection. The occupational office wrote their intention is avoid contaminated entry, that is not my case.
Well then, it may work in your favor as GAMCA would have NEVER passed you.聽 KSA may pass you.聽 I have heard of both outcomes happening.
Many thanks.
It means it's worth the risk.
Hi,
I have a similar query:
I was successful treated for syphilis 8 years ago while i was in Europe. I was issued a certificate of successful treatment by the hospital. My VRDL results are consistently non-reactive/negative since then, which shows I don't have clinical signs of current syphilis infection. My TPHA will remain positive forever, which indicates a past infection.
For KSA employment visa, i have to go for Gamca medical exam in Pakistan. Gamca guidelines require: "VDRL should be negative. If VDRL positive, then TPHA should be negative".
Also, syphilis is not listed among infectious diseases (like HIV, Hep B Antigen, HCV antibodies, TB) which are considered UNFIT in gamca guidelines ([link moderated])
My questions is that if I go to Gamca medical, and my VDRL is negative (which i have confirmed again) and TPHA positive, will that he considered as FIT. Or is it that any past syphilis inflection is considered permanently UNFIT in gamca medical? Any experiences or information in this regard will be helpful. Thanks
@XTang
You seem to be informed on these matters, my hep b test came back positive. I believe it's accute. I have also had syphilis 3 years ago and was treated and my vdrl came back positive.
If the Dr. Writes a note explaining all of this, would they grant my work visa or will it most likely be denied.
I have an offer as a manager for a consulting company and I am canadian. Any reply would help
GAMCA, no it won't help. In country medical in Saudi, yes.聽 For syphilis.
For Hep B, it is a no no either way.
Why is hep b such a no no. It's very prevalent in Egypt and they come into ksa with it.
