@Xenophon  There are very few apartments or houses available to rent and for every opening 50 to 100 would apply. Many are now living in shelters and tents as they cannot find an apartment.

Nova Scotia Health Care is dismal as the wait list for a family doctor, as of January 2023, is nearly approximately 46,643 people,  Wait times in the hospital ERs range from 8 to 14 hours.   Nova Scotia is not a good place to consider if you require a lot of health care services. You will wait years for non-urgent operations. For urgent surgeries, you will wait months!     Those who can afford it,  have private health insurance and fly to other countries for surgeries.

Cell Phone $50 for a basic plan

Public School free

Gasoline (auto) $1.60 per litre

Median income approx $35,000 (Atlantic Canada has some of the lowest wages in Canada)

Minimum Wage $15.00 per hour ( majority of open jobs are minimum wage positions)
