If you鈥檙e looking for affordable place to rent I would recommend to pay attention on Edenvale. The median rental rate here is around $1,700 per month, which is a great price for San Jose. Other great neighborhoods are Santa Teresa and Blossom Valley. The rent is higher there, but these areas are nice and safe for living. Both are close to Blossom Hill Road, and there are many shops, stores, restaurants, movie theaters and parks.

San Jose areas that are NOT SO SAFE would be East San Jose and Downtown San Jose.

South San Jose would be the safest.

As you can see from your other post if you could find something at $1700 that would eat up over 1/2 your income and you still need food, utilities, health insurance, transportation, phones, clothes, household goods and on and on.
