Autoriza莽茫o de Resid锚ncia for business of own company in Brazil

Hi,

I have "Autoriza莽茫o de Resid锚ncia por Reuni茫o Familiar" and can live in Brazil now.

I also have my own company which was founded in Brazil. (Only I work for this company)

In my understandoing if I separete with my wife, I will lose "Autoriza莽茫o de Resid锚ncia por Reuni茫o Familiar".

Is it possible for me to keep living in BR with some Autoriza莽茫o de Resid锚ncia because I have my own company?

If you've invested enough foreign money in your Brazilian business to qualify for residency on the basis of investment, yes.聽 If you've just set up a consulting business or a retail or other service business with little or no investment, no, you can't continue your legal residency on that basis.

If you and your wife separate, your "reuni茫o familiar" residency should be safe (as long as your separation is friendly and your wife doesn't file a complaint with the Federal Police) until you need to renew it.聽 In order for you to renew, you and she will have to declare to the Federal Police that your relationship is still intact and that you're living together.聽 If that isn't possible, you're going to have a problem.聽 In that case you should consult a lawyer well before your CRNM expires.

Thank you for your clear explanation. I could undertstand it.

So it seems like that if I invest in my own company with enough money, it's possible to get "Investment VISA" (and a Autoriza莽茫o de Resid锚ncia for it).

I though that it might be possible to get "Work VISA" as well by hiring myself. Isn't it possible?

12/15/24 @koirj.聽 For a regular investment visa (VITEM IX), you'll need to leave Brazil, obtain the visa at a Brazilian Consulate, and return with it.

You can obtain residency based on purchase of residential real estate while already in Brazil.聽 Read the posts by @Peter Itamaraca about the "Golden Visa" to understand how.聽 He explains it very well, and also highlights some of the advantages that approach has over the VITEM IX.

No, you can't obtain an Authorization for Residency by hiring yourself.聽 Your simplest way to stay in Brazil is to stay married.聽 After you've been a permanent resident for a year, if you meet the Portuguese language requirement and the other qualifications, you can request naturalization and become a citizen.

If none of those choices appeal to you, you should start talking to an attorney about聽 other options.聽 The immigration system is very difficult to game, but lawyers can sometimes find loopholes for their clients.

After only1 (one) year of residence in Brazil you may apply for the brazilian citizenship, as you're married to a brazilian.

Being a聽 brazilian waves you out any issue related with visas issued to foreignes.

Do you feel you would embrace such a choice?

Before becoming a Brazilian citizen it's a good idea to determine your home country's attitude toward dual citizenship.聽 Brazil and many other countries permit dual (or multiple) citizenship, but some others do not, and may terminate the citizenship of citizens who are naturalized by a second country.
