Hello
A few weeks ago, I posted a question because I had problems activating my Claro chip that I had just bought. At the time, I thought it was a problem with my postal number, the CEP, but actually, it was about my CPF. Even though the error message always said CPF, I read CEP all the time. Strangely enough, when I tried to activate my chip (dozens of times鈥), I always got the error when I entered the postal number, which is step number 3. The first thing they ask is to enter your CPF and that always seemed to pass, as well as (obviously) my birthdate, so I guess it鈥檚 because the error showed up at this particular moment that I read CEP instead of CPF. Anyway, it鈥檚 clear that the problem is something with my CPF.
After many weeks of not being able to use my chip, yesterday i was near a Claro store, and since i had plenty of time, I decided to get this situation resolved. Unfortunately, even though they did their best, they could only tell me that there must be some kind of problem with my CPF and their system didn鈥檛 tell them what was the problem and how to resolve it, so they told me to check with the Receita Federal. So I went on their website, again, just to see (again) that the status of my CPF is nothing but normal. It just says Status: Regular, and there is nothing there that would point me to what is the problem. So I decided to just update my profile, hoping this might resolve the problem.
Thanks to a very complete answer of @bepmoht (Thx 馃槉), I was able to easily find the page to update my data at the Receita Federal website, so I entered all of the required information and confirmed. At that point I got a confirmation, saying that everything was ok, but that I had to send a certain number of documents (I think per e-mail, but I鈥檓 not sure anymore ), together with the confirmation I had just received, to complete the process (in my case, 鈥榰pdate鈥 my CPF data). There鈥檚 a list of five or seven items you have to send and I have all of them, except one, which is of course a mandatory one鈥 (there are also one or two non-mandatory items). So what they鈥檙e asking for is something called Titulo de eleitor. I have never seen or heard this term, but it鈥檚 quite easy to find the some information about it. (For example here: Tribunal Superior Eleitoral).聽
Unfortunately I didn鈥檛 find anything about this titulo for foreigners. I have just a retirement visa, which may or may not get renewed at the end of next year (2025), so I don鈥檛 even know if I have or can have a t铆tulo de eleitor. If not, yeah, it seems that I can鈥檛 activate my new Claro chip鈥
It鈥檚 all a bit confusing. For example, I djd find a page (聽 )which should allow to聽 display my titulo, but one of the requirements is this:
聽 聽 鈥⒙ 聽 Comprovante de quita莽茫o do servi莽o militar, para o alistamento, sendo o requerente do sexo masculino (para homens com 19 anos que ainda n茫o tenham t铆tulo eleitoral)
Of course I don鈥檛 have that鈥t really seems that whenever I find a solution to a problem, a new obstacle reveals itself. Maybe somebody has experience with that and had to resolve the same situation, or a similar one? Any help is GREATLY appreciated.
