Are you planning to buy your tickets in Brazil or in your home country? If you buy tickets in Rio de Janeiro, don't buy from anyone else other than LIESA. Buying from others you run the risk of getting fake tickets or overpriced ones.

You may find it extremely difficult to find accommodations in Rio at this late date. Most of the hotels and guest houses are already booked up. You should check with a travel agent there in London if any inexpensive packages are still available. Don't trust it to luck that you will arrive in Rio without a reservation and be able to find something once you get there. As far as airfare goes, you are probably best off dealing with a travel agent at home prices are probably better and you will also avoid the added expense of converting your Pounds into Brazilian Reais for the fare.

Unless you plan to live on a total austerity budget you should plan on spending more than your alloted amount. Prices for everything go up dramatically between December and the end of February everywhere in Brazil.

Pay specific attention to the information about visas. If you are traveling on a UK passport or one from any other country shown on the link you will not need a tourist visa. Your valid passport is all you need in order to enter Brazil.

Hello guys,

I know everyone knows Rio, but the Ouro preto carnival it's as good as Rio.

The baroque streets of Ouro Preto hires during Carnival. Street revelries have taken a unique twist in the most famous colonial town in Minas Gerais: the city's many rep煤blicas, or university student co-ops, rule.

Students of co-ops (known like Fraternities or Republica in portuguese) give the greatest party ever!!!
Six insane days with:
- Beer released 24 hours;
- Open bar 24 hours with: Bacardi, Brandy, Steinhaeger, vodka Orloff, Batid茫o e cacha莽a mineira;
- Breakfast and lunch;
- Thematic parties every day;
- Two large blocos of Carnival Ouro Preto: Caix茫o e Cabrobro.
