A Portuguese Language Test conducted by FP would be passed or Celpe-Bras certificate should be presented.

Is this for real....no more Language test?

Is the Federal Police test the same level as a Ceple Bras .....those certificates are difficult, my wife only recently got her English one and she has been speaking English for over 10 years, with 7 years of living and working in English Countries and teaching English and she still found it difficult.....she got a B

I asked from 2 friends who were participated in that type of test conducted by FP. They said: it was very easy test. It is not like Celpe-Bras.....

Thanks....so you know people who have actually done this process?

I'm still hoping someone who has done the process or at least started (post February), can comment for some sort of confirmation..?

Please note that a house visit still does happen however it is on case to case basis, hence it mainly depends on which state and city you apply from.聽 Furthermore the language test still takes place.聽 In the bigger cities / states you have to go for the CELPE-Bras however in the smaller cities / states they give you a basic paragraph to read and also read out lout 5 or 6 lines which you have to write and hand in to them.

It is not that challenging overall

That sounds like a pretty big discrepancy ....reading/writing a few lines compared to doing a whole certificate depending on where you are?

It actually is a very very big discrepancy 聽 聽however this is the way things are and all we can do is just smile and move forward hehe.

The reason why bigger cities/states opt for the CELPE-Bras is because they have a bigger number of foreigners who are trying to apply for the nationality hence it is quiet challenging for them to test each and every one of them individually.

Hence they would rather just instruct the applicant to pass the CELPE-Bras instead.聽 Lastly keep in mind that they are not looking anyone to be a 100 percent fluent in Portuguese.聽 What they are requesting is a basic understanding of reading / writing of Portuguese.

Any idea what level of a Celpe Bras needs to be passed , I see intermediate is the most basic, who focuses on general understanding but allows for some grammatical mistakes and mother tongue interference....from there is goes up to superior intermediate all the way to advanced superior...

Intermediate it is as far as I know and understand.聽 Once again they are just looking to make sure that you have a basic command over the language nothing more.聽 Also if you want you can just visit the PF office in your city and ask them what are the requirements for naturalization.聽 The people here at the PF office in Florianopolis is quiet helpful overall.

It is a one-page compreehensive test and you have to read and answer.

Hi , Please let us know when you took this test, was it in 2016 or 2017 and which city you applied in.聽 Did you get all the paperwork yourself or get help from a despanche?聽 Are you still waiting for your court date, was there a home visit?聽 I got my RNE last year and did most of it at my consulate in the US and the process was pretty simple and fast.聽 Hopefully the naturalization process is also now more efficient.聽 Muito Obrigado!

The test was conducted in FP delegacy and it was organized in the end of 2016. I dont know about their home visit of mine. As speaking Portuguese, I did not get any help of others for my paperwork.

Yes, you have to submit your negative criminal record of your local police (from your country). The questions usually come from this sense mentioned by you. I applied in Interior of SP.

The interior cities of S茫o Paulo has no a large number of applicants.

Naturalization

I think it is a fake news to attract foreigners to Brazil. In the final of last year, I applied for naturalization and it took a few months to prepare a Portuguese test for me. The physical as well as mental health certificate was not asked by them.

The following information is valid for: Departamento de Pol铆cia Federal - Superintend锚ncia Regional SP in February 2017. The requirements and procedures do vary between delegacias.

No dia do seu agendamento quando voc锚 deposita seu pedido de naturaliza莽茫o, a PF manda que voc锚 escreva uma carta para o minist茅rio da justi莽a descrevendo seu trabalho e atividades no Brasil. Ent茫o, o naturalizado tem uma hora para responder 6 quest玫es sobre um texto em portugu锚s de duas p谩ginas. O texto usado nesse caso 茅 sobre o campe茫o de boxe na ol铆mpica 2016 no Rio, brasileiro Robson Concei莽茫o. Um quest茫o pergunta sobre o que 茅 o texto em geral. Tr锚s quest玫es perguntam quais s茫o os nomes das tr锚s pessoas que s茫o mencionadas no texto. Um quest茫o pergunta o que aconteceu no final da competi莽茫o entre Robson e o oponente dele. O quest茫o final manda os raz玫es individuais do naturalizado porque ele/ela deseja ser naturalizado no Brasil. Ent茫o, o agente l锚 alto uma ora莽茫o curta do texto e voc锚 deve escrev锚-la.

Note that depending on your individual situation the PF will ask for a set of documents that may differ from another applicant.

It is best to go to your Policia Federal station to ask which documents are required as it is probably different at each one.

When you go to the federal police and enquire they give you a paper with a list of everything you will need.
I'm doing this list from memory so it might not be 100%\
I did this in May 2017 so it's pretty fresh info



Basically
- a letter from your countries consulate confirming your identity
-Brazilian Marriage certificate or birth certificate of Brazilian child
-Certified copy of RNE and CPF with the number they can run to check it
-Full photocopy of your passport cover to cover
-Proof of address
- proof of employment or income
- 3 different police checks from brazil, 2 you get online and one at poupa tempo
-Police clearence certificates聽 for all countries you have resided in ( I think longer than 3 months)
in the last 5 years , these have to apostilled in the country of origion and translated to portuguese in Brazil.
-聽 two聽 3x 4 color photos
- Proof of payment of the fees involved
- Possibly your last tax return and maybe employment contract, these help

You will have to pass a written Portuguese test on the spot, usually based on an article from the days paper and a few personal questions, like why you want to become a citizen- about 5 or 6 questions, pretty easy at least thats how it is in most cities in SP - it's pretty easy

You have to fill in a paper with personal info like assets and about your work but it's pretty chilled

There will be a brief home visit as well.......

I got the Residency on Aug 24 and there was no test just questions to me and my Partner to which neither of us could answer each other's questions that were being asked.

all police reports from outside Brazil have to be issued within the last 3 months

I did everything myself, it's pretty easy, I don't see why you would need a helper, I've never used one in Brazil.

The home visit took about 3 weeks to a month after I admitted everything, but it was in a smaller city
