Tex, I have flown Copa on occasion, but never a good ending.
My last time I had an overnight layover.  I smoked at that time and requested a visa so that I could go out of the airport to have a cigarette but they wouldn`t give it to me because I didn`t have a yellow fever shot.  I told them that I hoped the mosquitoes were aware that they could not get into the airport.
As I was flying business class (big deal with this airline, sure) I went to the business lounge but they closed at 1 AM so I had to go to lay down on the floor somewhere.
Sometime later I put an unlit cigarette in my mouth and an airline bitch came over to tell me to remove it from my mouth and not dare light it up.  I just told her to drop dead.
Then some military idiot with a rifle came to reinforce the bitch`s demand and since he was a man (a little one) I told him to GFYS.
I survived but I will walk before I fly that garbage airline again, that can`t even have real long haul planes.
You know that they are a Continental Airlines associate (COPA = Continental Panama).

Probably because now, the government's numbers are being checked by the media consortium that was formed last week to compile statistics for all the major media outlets when Bolsonaro ordered the Healrh Ministry to stop publishing the daily statistics.   They wisely decided to keep doing it, even after the Supreme Court forced him to reverse course.  By trying to evade accountability, all he got for himself was a 100% audit every day.  And higher, more credible numbers.

Dow Jones - 6.9%
NASDAQ - 5.27%
S&P500 - 5.89%
STOXX 600 (Europe) - 4%
VIX (fear index) - up to 40 points (48%). Peak at 2008-2009 crisis was 44points.

Boeing shares down 16.4%.

So it if continues and the global stock markets crash like in 1929, you´ll be the only one driving at
freeway I5!

As I said, Robal, I didn`t mean to make little of the virus situation, but I did enjoy my ride enormously. 
As for the situation in LA, it seems to be calm and, other than stores requiring masks, it looks like people pretty much believe the crisis is over.
I went to a store a couple of days ago, wearing a mask but none of the people there, meaning both owners, were wearing nor enforcing mask usage.
I guess people are tired of lockdown and decided the risk is worth it.

Well, I broke my own rule last night. I was passing through my favorite restaurant and saw people getting in without masks. I went in to take a peek and the owner and waiters who all know me were very happy to see me. One of them grabbed my car keys and handled them over to a guy who parked my car to the appropriate parking space. I sat and waited for the "espeito corrido." Just also got tired of lockdown for nearly 4 months... I hope I didn´t get any Covid date for 14 - 27 days at least.

We'll be doing the same when our favorite place opens next week.  We've been having them deliver every week through the shutdown, but it's just not the same.  🤞🤞🤞 for all of us.

Foz is really bad. Here, not yet at that level. I would stay home also in that case. I´m a heavy tipper,

You mean the distribution or concentration in a designated area. Foz is almost the same size as Novo Hamburgo. Foz at about 258,532 vs 246,748 for Novo Hamburgo. Novo Hamburgo is not so crowded...

I DID find that Fogo Mineiro (MG source) actually had some Bhut Jolokia that has a kick to it. Friends bring me maple syrup and buttermilk pancake mix but I've also had to start producing my own things (like my peanut butter - who can live without PB??). They hate PB unless I use it make a thai satay sauce for steamed vegies (only my partner will partake).

So I think that I have benefitted in this regard. Being able to get back into the kitchen has given me energy and kind memories of the diverse foodstuffs that might be available in Greater SP or Rio but are difficult to find here in the heart of the nordeste.

I can imagine the Nordestino´s dislike for macarronada with strong herbal taste. But here in RS with
lots of Italian descendants, it´s pretty common. I also cook buchada and picanha ao vinho. Sometimes paleta de ovelha ao vinho branco. You´ll like it here in Novo Hamburgo where there are lots of botecos serving diverse aperitivos. I haven´t gotten around to making my own peanut butter. I don´t like the local variety. Peanut butter and jelly... miss it. I used to make kare-kare with it.

Robal, when I returned to the US KFC was my first stop, even if I had visited KFC in Sao Paulo a few times.
As for Dunkin Donuts, I went over to Autozone this morning and on the back, I stopped at a doughnut shop and brought home a dozen.  I really was in the mood for some doughnuts.
