I have had the good fortune to have met Regina. She is truly a great aid to many whom have just moved to, or are investigating Cuenca as an option to re locating.

The big question for me is how did Regina know of her existence and her desire to be interviewed, considering she has not posted any comments her. Is she a blogger here at expat-blogs?

Can't say how she was chosen, but, she is very well known to many in Cuenca. She is very social, and knowledgeable in many areas in the transition to Cuenca.

My name is Charles, and like you, I am an American citizen who has chosen to not live in the USA. We also have in common birth dates in early April, and therefore, probably share other common personality traits and interests.

I currently reside (six years) in a southern province in China, but I have lived in Japan, Okinawa, Vietnam (war), Philippines and Guam also.

Recently, I have entertained the idea of leaving China and starting a new lifestyle elsewhere. In that regard, I have done a little research on retirement living in Thailand, Ecuador and Nicaragua. I have friends in these countries who tell me they very much like living in their respective choices. However, and for some unknown reason, I have this feeling that there is another place somewhere(?) that might suit me better. It is for this reason I email you.

I read your article on the expat-blog and also took a look at what you volunteered about yourself in your expat-blog profile. You may laugh, but the reason I stepped up to the plate to send this email is because we share "Aries" birthdays and I thought we might like similar lifestyles, or at least you might understand that I do not need to "fit in", nor do I need others to approve of my life choices.

Anyway, and to get to the point (finally, she says), I would like to know what you find appealing about Bolivia as a possible place to settle. I know very little about South America, but I do want to look at South America as an option.
