There is no way to get political asylum for overstaying a tourist visa. Political asylum has nothing to do with this problem. You must pay the money or you will have problems. :( Read More

Thanks, my wife told me that, too, after I had written this post! It is best to pay the fine in town rather than at the border, cause they could put the screws on you there. :-) Read More
