Do you mean that surnames are limited for expats ? Would it be badly received to have 蓝 as a surname ? Because i really really like this one

If it is really not possible to have 蓝 as a surname, could it be at least in the nickname ? Like 金秋蓝 (which seems to be a male name, but that's for the example).

I am affraid to pick a name that chinese people would find strange, inadequate or too old. (The worst would be that they find it disrespectfull, and i absolutely don't want that either, of course).

0.1 percent in china. mostly they lived on Guangxi(450,000) , Guangdong(240,000), so it is ok surname as "蓝"。
