re: Travel to the Cebu during Covid

My wife (a Philippine Citizen) and I have been waiting to return to Cebu for the last 3 months.聽 Unfortunately, there are no flights going into to Mactan International Airport at this time.

We do have the option to possibly fly from JFK to Manila followed by a mandatory 10-14 day quarantine after which we would need to book flights to Cebu.

Here's the one question I'm having a difficult time getting an answer to:聽 If we did follow the above lines of travel and after the 10-14 day quarantine we boarded a flight to Cebu, would we have to quarantine again in Cebu and if so for how long?

I look forward to any info

I dont have any info about that but perhaps a bit useful related.
Recemtly they got out of quarantine places in Cebu.
So I GUESS thats why聽 no international flighs there now?
We are on our 8th day quarantine in Manila. On the 10th day, if our swab test results are negative, we will fly to Tacloban and drive to our home in Biliran where we will quarantine in our house for the additional 4 days. The 4-day house quarantine could be longer or even shorter but that depends on the LGU protocol. Something to consider, ECQ will go into effect in Metro Manila August 6 thru 20 allowing only essential travel.
Thank you for your response Moon Dog.

We have a home currently under construction in Cebu that we need to make some final detail decision on (ei: kitchen cabinets, some lighting fixtures, tile, etc) and we were hoping to be able to fly in to take care of it prior to my retirement and move to Cebu in October,

So our trip wouldn't be classified as essential to anyone but us.

I thank you for the information.聽 Based on your experience i surmise we may only be subject to an addition 3-5 days of quarantine in either a hotel or with family in Cebu.

Again, I appreciate it.

Rick
Congratulations on the progress of your home. We are down to punch list items and glad to be able to finally live in our home.

You may be surprised on what is considered essential travel. Your travel probably qualifies. This young lady explains it very well.

Thanks, tpiro, that just makes me really uncomfortable about traveling to Cebu. They're "updating" the domestic travel requirements, no info there about what to expect so in lieu of any specific information to the contrary, I would expect the worst. Plus things change.

I had booked a dive trip flying from Clark to Cebu early this month. My neighbor had just made the trip without incident. And then the latest lockdown began. Philippines Airlines apparently has in place a policy of converting cancelled flight payments to travel vouchers, so I'm OK there--but when can I take a 5-day trip without potential quarantine at one end or the other (or both)?
I, and a couple of others on another board, are flying direct LAX to CEBU on PAL. Beware the cheaper ticket on EVA airlines. It goes through TPE. And the Taiwanese gov is not allowing transiting through TPE at least until thee d of August. After then who knows. Travel safely.

They have direct flights from LA to Cebu. My friend had to quarantine 10 days in Manila, and was supposed to quarantine again in Cebu, but Manila locked down and after 2 months, decided to go back to the US.
