DP applications approval for residents already in Singapore

Hello everyone!

We have been living in Singapore for over 5yrs now. My husband changed jobs this year and it took almost 2.5months for his new EP to be approved (got approved last week...the processing was delayed as we were asked to submit verification of qualifications... that took almost a month !). His old company agreed to extend his EP until the new EP was approved. Now his old EP will be valid until May 31st (subject to cancellation on request from my husband once the new EP is approved). The lawyer representing the new company for immigration purposes will be applying for the dependent passes (kids and mine) tomorrow. They told us that the old DP doesn鈥檛 have to be canceled immediately. Once the IPA is issued for the new DP, the old ones can be cancelled (after we get the old EP canceled). Is this true ?聽 Can new DP be applied without cancelling the old ones ?聽 I am worried about this as kids school might get disrupted if the old DP is canceled and we have stay on social visit pass status until the new ones are approved.
