Renewed Vietnamese drivers license in Bình Dương

I renewed Vietnamese my drivers license in Bình Dương back in April. The Vietnamese government office in Bình Dương at the time told me the license had been approved and would be mailed and delivery would be delayed until July because of the merge of Bình Dương and HCMC offices but I still haven't received it. I checked twice with the Bình Dương office again and first they said they have no idea who to ask due to confusion from the shuffling of offices,  then the second time the same office said I will have to wait until next year and renew again. I paid the fees and the license was approved back in May, and need my license.  Has anyone else had this problem and can someone point me in the right direction?

I was told hat the issue was with  lack of stock of plastic cards.  They then instructed me to come back to the HCMC office after 3 months with my receipt to pickup the licence.

Thanks for the reply.

Has it been 3 months and did you go back to the office? Could you tell me what office and where in HCMC?

Thanks again.

That sounds about right. A French citizen had a similar story that was posted to Facebook yesterday, by the agent who assisted him with his license. This is what she posted:

"This morning, my client in Da Nang sent me a message with great news — he finally received his Vietnamese driving license card from the post office!
"I helped him with the conversion process back in March 2025, and it’s always so rewarding to see the result."
