Family reunification
You know, you have to see the visa for EU and non EU as two different queues.
For EU they must make a deciding within max 6 months
Non EU within 9 months, can be extended 2 times with 3 months
And every file is different. From what I was reading, the average time for EU is between 4 and 5 months.
Yes I was surprised because I've got mine in 3.5 months.
For non EU the avaerage time is really between 8 and 9 months for making decision.
It's all depending of the additional documents are needed and what kind of additional documents they want, interview,...
If your partner and you have an interview, then this is almost for sure for investigation of fake marriage. This processwill take longer time because they will send the file to the court for advise. After the court has made decision, they will give this to DVZ. Theoretically the DVZ doesn't have to follow because it's an advice but in real they will always folliw the court.
In my case, they were just asking simple things. Some pictures, tickets,... And i could provide this very easily to DVZ.
I know it's tough to wait, and some are indeed lucky but in general for non EU members, just keep in mind it will take time between 8 and 9 months.
Don't lose hope, if your file is strong and decent and you meet all the requirements and qualifications, then they will approve the visa. Because a family reunification is a right, unlike all ther visas like tourists visa, work visa, family visit visa,... are a favor. Even when you meet all the qualifications, they still have the right to deny the visa.
Family reunification visa is different. If your file is complete and all the requirements are ok and they don't doubt about your relationship, then they MUST give you the visa.
Stay strong and don't lose hope please. Trust on your file that you provided and if they are asking additional documents, take time and send them everything structured and compleet.
@Hunny Bini it's 9th October, I had to go back to my spouse for holidays because of slow processing, I am sure I provided all documents ( Belgian one as well) it's just always same response "documents are in correct order and is in processing".all the medical and other certificate initially asked only hold validity for 6 months from every nation . It's just awful to wait for over 6 months with invalid documents to consider for processing
Hi,
i heard that in Germany, the employer can pressure the immigration for a profile to be approved in order to recruit the specific person. Is there any such case in belgium?
Update:
Yesterday we picked up our documents from VFS global. We have received a multiple entry visa that is valid for 365 days
There is no Schengen on her visa mentioned , only Belgium.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year guys.
Good wishes for all of us and lets hope we got our visa approved asap.
@Kwannius
its all about profile and type of job.. in our case from No reply to family reunion took 5 weeks ( family moving together) , and we are Non EU.
@ugwujaukamaka406 i hope you will get good news soon
.. i have applied on 11 August .. still waiting
@Hunny Bini amen, I guess your spouse is not EU citizen right?, Hence why you are still waiting.
@Poolnoodle Congratulations!
Always happy to hear when someone got their visa. Hopefully mine will be granted soon.
@ugwujaukamaka406 yes he is not Eu citizen .. waiting for update .. as my case is still in process ..
@ugwujaukamaka406
To be honest the difference between EU and non-EU is also not clear.
Earlier this year I found someone here who are Indian citizen and get his Visa D for his spouse in less then 3 months. In Reddit also find a family from Philipines who got his visa in 4 months.
If I check Poolnoodle profile and previous post, he is also non-EU and his spouse got visa in around 3 months.
Its confusing how someone who applied in October already got the visa but there is also someone from June who still waiting.
In this random situation the best we can do is to stay positive but also prepared too wait.
One thing for sure: the more applications resolved mean its one step closer for our turn.
@ugwujaukamaka406
Hello
As you can read my previous messages in this tread.they asked for the marriage certIficate, however we applied on the basis of legal cohabitation and my lawyer sent them my profile in my bruger profiel which says that i am unmarried and legally cohabiting with my partner and yes there was a traditional marriage in the past but that was never registered.
and yesterday the status changed to Accoord.
@Hunny Bini
Thankyou, here is my timeline.
applied on June 20
file sent to IBZ Aug 4
Additional documents asked Dec 20
Accoord Jan 4
Hi all, just checking in.
So, who's still here waiting for visa D approval? It seems the discussion about visa D has become quieter nowadays.
As for me, I applied on November 10 and got registered in Dofi on December 13.
No further updates since then. Still waiting for any good news.
@Izca I am still waiting for good news too, I applied on November 14 and was registered on December 22
@Izca
