F card expiring while Permanent Residence (F+) application is pending

mage26

Hello everyone,

I applied for Permanent Residence (F+) on 18/12/2025 after completing 5 years of legal residence in Belgium.

My child has Belgian citizenship.

My F card will expire on 25/01/2026 and the commune gave me Annex 22.

I have a few questions:

    1.    Do I need to wait up to 6 months for the decision before getting a new card?

    2.    Will the commune issue a new F card, or do I just stay with Annex 22 until the F+ decision?

    3.    During this waiting period, is it common that police visit the home for address verification, or does it not happen in every case?

I would appreciate hearing experiences from people who went through the same process.

Thank you in advance.
