Tips, tricks, or recommendations for an immigration lawyer

Hey all, I'm Ben. My wife and I are looking to escape the UK as fast as possible. We just purchased a house in Radovets that needs renovation and I'll be flying out on the 15th May to hand over the contract and pick up the keys. Going to spend time over the following year renovating the place. If anyone is local I'd love to meet you all!

I'm a sculptor with my own business so I'll be looking into getting a visa sorted asap via the opening a foreign office route. If anyone has any tips, tricks, or recommendations for an immigration lawyer to help me out with that I'd really appreciate it.

I can't recommend anyone, though a helpful immigration lawyer does visit the forum to reply to questions and might be a good person to contact. Good luck with the house and the visa! I hope it all works out well for you both.

Is your "own business" a UK limited company or you T/A or self-employed? I believe the TRO option leans towards a separate legal entity, and you need at least 2 years of trading.

There are plenty of immigration attorneys around, and I'd imagine a few are reputable. :-) @janemulberry mentions one, he's @Vasilev who's a very knowledgeable and helpful contributor to the forum. I use the guy who runs immigration2bulgaria and very happy to recommend him. Tanya Dimitrova has helped quite a few members, you can find her at visaforbulgaria. Dr. Google will also give you a few names.

Good luck with the move!

Thanks mate, I appreciate the recommendations.

Yeah my business is a UK limited company that I've been running for nearly 6 years - is that what you mean by a separate legal entity?

Hello, I am also an immigration lawyer and I helped a lot of people from this forum. All my details are in my profile.

Yes, exactly. With such trading history, a TRO registration should be very straightforward.

I believe most folks will get an immigration attorney to handle this. But for info I include the BCCI link.

The TRO registration is needed for your D visa application. However, it's not a trading entity (that would be your UK company or a new Bulgarian EOOD).
