Neurofen is available but (I think) neurofen plus contains codine so is not "over the counter".  Try contacting farmacia  called  "novadamaia"  (search online) and ask them as they do deliveries so tend to know what;s available.

NUROFEN PLUS tablets contain the active ingredients Ibuprofen and Codeine Phosphate. Checking the INFARMED website, which regulates medicines in Portugal, there is no combination of these 2 active substances available there. There is only Ibuprofen. You can check here:

Seach by:

"Substância ativa / DCI" box = Ibuprofeno

After writing this, I confirmed that this medicine is not available.

Prolonged use of drugs combining these two compounds has been associated with a RISK OF DEATH. In Portugal, this combination stopped being marketed in 1997.

So be careful with this medicine... ....

After a recent surgery I was prescribed Skudexa (cloridrato de tramodol + dexcetoprofeno 75mg + 25mg) which I found to be very effective. I also have long term pain issues and was told by a doctor friend it would not be a good idea to take this long term but find naproxen helpful when I need a pain killer. Hope this helps as I'm sympathetic to your situation.

Codeine is "heroin" in a pill. It's a highly addictive opioid. Anything containing codeine won't be sell over the counter and doctors won't prescribe it unless with a very good reason.
