Private Health Insurance

Hi. We are a British couple living in the UK. I am 70 and my wife is 73 and would love to move and live around the silver coast in Portugal and we would be buying our house. We would love feed back from someone around our age that has moved to Portugal in the last couple of years and has taken out private health insurance for a couple. We would love to hear first hand the true cost of health insurance and the company they would recommend. If private health insurance is affordable then we will be on our way this year. Thanks Derek

Look into Advance Care. Its for people over 55 and more affordable than MGEN or any of the other plans offered

Hi Derek, Welcome.

At your age, I suggest MGEN.

MGEN has no age limit.

Thanks for your replies. mars60, REGGELIFE. JohnnyPT. That is a big help I will now get a quote for private Medicare insurance and fingers crossed it will be affordable. Cheers

Keep in mind that a plan is different from in insurance. If you want an insurance and are older than 65 I think that MGEN is the only option in Portugal. A plan you can even get from CUF or LUZ.

Thanks I am over 65. I am still looking into what is best and affordable.
