Help with VISA application

Hi all

New member here.

I want to move to the outskirts of Lisbon next summer with my daughter who will be 11 by then. I will be applying for the D7 Visa and we are interested in moving to the Colares / Sintra area.

I have been advised that it may be worth employing somebody to help with the VISA application and I was hoping to get some recommendations as well as any other tips or general advice about the move. A friend suggested using a UK聽 firm.

I look forward to hearing from people

Cheers

Hi Pete, Welcome.

You don't need a lawyer, as you can do everything by yourself. But it all depends on whether you want to spend money or not. ... Here is some support on what you need:

I'll have a look at these threads

As Johnny has said, it is up to you, but personally, I would save your money as it is quite straightforward. There is a lot of information on the forum. Should you get stuck at any point, you are free to ask any question you like.

Hi Pete.

Instead, I suggest a lawyer. It won't cost you much and can save you some back and forth. I recommend Ms. Miraldina. ***

Hi and Welcome,

You can definitely go through the process yourself as many others have and there's a lot of info on here to help.聽 聽You could ask a couple of lawyers in UK and PT to quote their fees for parts of of the process in case you feel it necessary. Possibly one issue could be finding suitable accommodation for D7 but this is not really a lawyers job.

@SimCityAT

thanks, i'd definitely rather save the money

@Strontium

thanks, my dad lives in Portugal and owns a house there. He is resident and lived their permanently for over 20y but is not a Portuguese citizen. I was wondering whether he could sign an agreement to say I would be staying there.
