Bank account in Bahrain

Hello,

I have left Bahrain in 2023 without closing my bank account as I left the country without making any final exit. I just left and didn鈥檛 come back. My work visa expired on July 2023 and my CPR expires on nov 2027. I have a BBK account with 0 BD. The BBK sent me a pre dormancy notification and I sent a request to close the account they didn鈥檛 make any thing few time after they sent a dormancy notification claiming 5,5BD聽 for an account of a balance of 0 BD! This bank can request these fees through the embassy of my country for example? Should I ignore their notification emails ? What to do in this case ? Thank you

If you鈥檙e not planning to return to Bahrain, you can let it be, but if you intend to go back, it鈥檚 wise to contact them, clear the balance, and close the account. The amount is small, but there鈥檚 a chance they could file a case that usually leads to a travel ban.
