Ending work permit in Turkey

After the expiration of work permit, can an expat stay legally in Turkey for tourism purpose (say for another 30 days)? Or is it mandatory for the expat to exit Turkey when the work permit expires?

I also heard that after exiting Turkey because of work permit expiration, an expat can only return to Turkey in next 3 months. Can anybody help me to clarify this information?

Good day.

Very good questions. There are 2 options.

1. After your current employer cancels your work permit, you have 10 days to find a new job and transfer your employment (social security ssk) to new employer.

2. Or after cancel, you have 10 days to leave the country (without getting any deport + overstay fine).

Or if you have been employed more than 5 months, you can apply for a short-term (1 year) residence permit.
