Getting USA Vaccination Recognized in Philippines

PhilRes

This is going to be an issue at some point -

Phil is making exceptions for fully vaccinated citizens vaccinated IN PHILIPPINES - on return Hotel Quarantine by shortening it for them, also before ECQ kicked in - fully vaccinated had rights to move about when might otherwise not.

I am not sure on the domestic flight travel - but proof of vaccine vs. yet another covid test is to be expected.

When I returned having gone to USA for Vaccination - there was mention of OFW and vaccine confirmations from consulate/embassies but it was clear, though I was in fact fully vaccinated, as simply a returning SRRV USA Person, there was no allowance made

I know the reasoning - i.e. fake "proof" of vaccination -  Phil not control, etc.  I also know the fact that bulk of vaccines here have been Sinovac which had never gotten topline regulator approval anywhere - so can't even be financed by those wanting to help Phil get more doses.

The question is: does any one know of any news / reports of their being any effort or plan to deal with the growing number of people that as in fact fully vaccinated - with the topline vaccines outside of Philppines?,

Just saw CNN report interviewing a Filipina at the SFO airport where they have been offering free J&J jabs on arrival & others that going right out to get Pfizer/Moderna as pharmacies - and of course Guam is having a boom from their vaccine tourism program.

Again - just looking for information here - I already have the "I have heard that...." stuff that I not interested in trying to follow.

Fully vaccinated travelers, whether vaccinated abroad or in the Philippines, need only undergo a 7 day quarantine if they spent the last 14 days in a green list country. You can read all about it on the Philippine Airlines web site. I would post the link but the internet is too slow tonight. Just google "Arrival guide for fully vaccinated travelers".

It is so easy to get the jabs in the US, why would anyone go to the trouble of making a fraudulent vaccination card? Just those unfortunate enough to be antivaxxers would consider such a thing.

The wife and I are on our 21st day of quarantine. We did our 10 days in Manila then traveled to Biliran Island to do 4 more in our new house. Just before our 4th day we were informed that it was going to be 7 days, with a swab test on the 7th day. The swab test was on the 9th day (they don't work weekends) and we were promised results on the 10 day, or the 11th at the latest. Looks like the results will be on the 12th day. We already know the results are negative, Jovy has kin folk working in the testing facility, we just need it to be official. Oh yeah, we had to shell out P4,000 each for the tests.

We were supposed to pick up our new SUV on the 9th day which was this past Monday. The sales lady was nice enough to drive it all the way from Tacloban (2 1/2 hours one way) but she hit a snag at the Biliran bridge because the people at the check point knew we were still under quarantine. So with the help of Jovy's aunt who works at the municipality and the barangay captain who is Tatay's first cousin she was allowed to bring the car to the property but Tatay was to sign the paperwork. We have a new Fortuner sitting in the driveway since Monday and maybe we can take it for a ride tomorrow, but I'm not holding my breath.

This is the crazy part, the guy showed up to do the swab tests an hour or two after the car was delivered. He told us he had the final say on the delivery of the car and he knew that we paid cash for it? He wanted us to take a photo of him next to the car. Paying cash for a car here must be noteworthy. There are no secrets in the provinces.

Thanks again for clear posts, I read them all. Your journey is very similar to ours. We’re planning to leave here November 17,  after our house sale here in the US closes. We already have the house built in the Phils about an hours drive from Dipolog City/Dapitan and we’re having the family buy the SUV before we arrive and pick us up at the Dipolog airport. Can we talk outside this form a little more specifically. I would truely love a guide through this, If not no problem.
