I'm hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction here about applying for a Maltese passport.

I'm a Canadian citizen (but have my Malta residence permit -which expires Dec 2015 according to the sticker in my passport). My husband and I were married in Malta in 2010- we lived there for three years and then moved to the UK. Now that we've been married for 5 years I'm interested in possibly applying for my Maltese passport. I've been trying to find info online but seems a bit confusing and as usual I don't really find Maltese websites very straight forward lol

Does anyone know which form(s) I would need to complete to apply? Also I have the original Malta ID card. The new rules came into effect after we moved away from Malta so I'm not sure if that is another thing to worry about?

I have no idea where to start and how to apply from the UK, which form I need... so if anyone else has applied for a Malta passport through marriage to a Maltese citizen that could offer advice that would be appreciated聽
